Professional experience:

08.06            Creation of Sinolux International Consulting (SIC) in Beijing with two specialized branches in management and engineering in Hon Kong as well as one branch in Italy and another branch in Luxembourg to cover local projects.

SIC is a business development company active in natural gas, coal conversion and energy savings. Some of its customers rank among the top 500 like BP, Total, Sasol as well as medium size companies like Heurtey Petrochem, Evides, Nukem etc.

 The natural Gas business is developing into the main focus of SIC, working on gas sweetening, gas liquefaction and transportation. This business field is expected to get a stronger importance in SIC future development and contracts are being prepared with technology providers like Prosernat (gas sweeteners from IFP), Uhde, Lurgi and others to come.

Currently I am very actively involved in the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China responsible for coal conversion in the energy chapter which is also handling the natural gas sector.

I am a strong believer in the future and growth of natural gas in China and this is why it has a high priority in SIC.

11.89-08.06    Employment by process engineering company “Lurgi” in Germany

                      The name of Lurgi at that time was “Lurgi Oil Gas Chemistry”, with a high priority on natural gas. Lurgi gave up it oil refinery business and mainly concentrated in natural gas based technologies supplying the feed stock for the chemistry group. We called this the “natural gas based refinery” which finally let Air Liquide buy Lurgi because of its expertise in the natural gas field.

                       I have been sales and business developer during my whole Lurgi career working predominantly on natural gas projects in Indonesia (Bontang), Malaysia (Labuan, Kerteh), Thailand (Map Tah Put) and Vietnam (Baria Vung Tau). When I came to China as managing director the main focus was on adjusting our natural gas processes to coal gasification - gas. Despite the strong push on coal conversion technologies at that time, I could sell two natural gas based processes to BP and Total in China. These were 2 projects out of 23 I sold in the 5 years I worked for Lurgi in China.

                      During my stay with Lurgi in China I could develop my network into PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC and of course the major coal mines in case of coal conversion. The relationship to government bodies and all the class A local design institutes was a must.

I started the Tupras underground gas storage in Turkey, which has been taken over by a colleague since I focused more on Southeast Asia.

Maybe interesting is that I developed the Java Pipeline in Indonesia, which is a multiproduct pipeline connecting Cillacap and Exor Refineries with Jakarta. The total length is 1.500 km, with 9 tank farms and 15 pumping (pressure elevation) stations.

Basically my professional life in Lurgi was around natural gas.

Worked as sales manager in the nuclear radioactive waste treatment field among others in USA (2 Years), Spain (2 years) and Indonesia (2 years)
